Australian Energy Week 2016 Summary

This was the first year for Australian Energy week, combining the following events: Eastern Australia’s Energy Markets Outlook Conference (EAEMO), the NEM Future Forum and the Electricity Storage Future Forum + new streams.

This conference consisted of 4 days of streams from 20-23 June 2016. The expo lasted for 2 days, 21-22 June. The purpose of the conference was to pool executives from all over the Australian energy industry to discuss fundamental changes within the industry. The main concern is that the traditional utility company is not ready for the trends in power storage, consumer solar PV, and uptake of electric vehicles.

The shift in the industry will give more power to the customer. This means that the traditional utility company must be more responsive to changes in customer demand patterns. TESLA can help manage the uncertainty around forecasting these trends in power storage, consumer solar PV, and uptake of electric vehicles.
